OUR HISTORY
A legacy built on the court and in the community
THE BEGINNING
The Legends of Basketball was founded with a simple but powerful idea: that the men and women who played professional basketball share a unique bond that extends far beyond the court. What began as informal gatherings of retired players grew into a nationwide organization dedicated to honoring the game’s history.
Our founders recognized that former players had much to offer their communities — wisdom, leadership, and a platform to inspire the next generation of athletes and citizens.
Growing Legacy
Over the years, the organization expanded from a small group of players to a network of chapters across major cities. Each chapter brings the Legends mission to life through local events, community service, and fellowship among members.
Today, the Legends of Basketball continues to grow, welcoming members from all professional leagues and
eras who share a passion for the game and a commitment to giving back.
